6 of Swords from Khaoamusica Extended Edition
Those of you who are perhaps readers or fans of G.Morrison &/or Alan Moore or Alejandro Jodorosky will probably know that each of them are illuminates and students of the Tarot as well.
All have insinuated Tarot lore into the narrative of many of their fictives. The writer and auteur Jodorosky gave us an exhaustive study in his excellent nonfiction Tarot study book, 'The Way of Tarot'.
From the 'Invisibles Omnibus Edition' (2014)
In Morrison's epic and mind bending 'Invisibles' there are many examples. However, it's more of a background literary trope. But the less well known but intriguing 'Seven Soldiers' it is used in prominence as well. I've taken images specifically from the "Invisibles Omnibus Ed." (illustrated by various artists but penned by Morrison) and created a fan tarot deck of sorts.
From "Promethea Vol. 1" (2005)
With Moore his tarot knowledge is MOST apparent in the lucid and wonderfully illustrated epic and introduction to western hermetica, 'Promethea' ... My work here was strait-forward as I adapted and reworked the very images from Volume 1.
'Learning' Tarot - Self-made deck, unpublished 2014
And finally, I've posted my first illustrated tarot. I created it in 2014 as a way to study the imagery and lore. These are my illustrations but I've included on the back traditional tarot interpretation of each card along with excerpts from Jodorosky's wonderful book of lore mentioned above.
I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the finest artists & individuals from around the Western Hemisphere this past year in the Khaoamusica Tarot. (

The Khaoamusica project was a wonderful experience for me and I had the opportunity to illustrate something I had been learning about. Tarot lore is fascinating to me. I utilize the tarot frequently in my artistic pursuits. I have another deck which I completed in 2015 that I am self-publishing by request. (If you are interested please message me.)
From work-in-progress collaboration with fellow Oklahoma artist, Shaun Jackson of Stillwater.
In the present I am excited also to be collaborating with the fantastic horror artist Shaun Jackson (
www.facebook.com/shaun.jackson…) on a graphic Horror-themed deck, as yet untitled. I also am looking forward to the expanded 2nd edition of the Khaoamusica tarot to publish in 2016 which will expand the deck to include not only the Major Arcana but the 4 suits as well. I'll keep tabs here at DæmAngelic Alchemy. I also hope this year to return to the charter for this pages name.. A cryptic and epic divinatory deck based on the traditional ranks and personalities of the Judeo-Christian hermetic lore.
